Our Story

ETHEREAL

Afternoon Tea and Desserts

Hi, My name is Sevannah and I am the owner of Ethereal Tea and Confections. Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little bit about me and my business. I grew up in Newfoundland and having a cup of tea is something that always brought people together. I would go over to my nans house every opportunity I got and have a cup of tea and a homemade biscuit and jam. I would listen to stories about growing up and we would talk about our days. Tea is a lovely excuse to meet with friends and family, and just enjoy spending time together. It really brings people together, and that is what I want my business to do.

Combining my love of tea and pastry seemed like the natural choice when I was deciding what kind of business I wanted to start. I decided when I was 16 years old that baking was what I wanted to do with my life, and from that moment on, everything I did was in pursuit of that dream. There is, in my opinion, no better career in the world. It started with getting my degree in Pastry Arts, from there, I went on to work in hotels and pastry shops across Canada. I am so excited to start my own adventure and share my journey with you.

It is very important to me that my business operate in a responsible way, so I have made it a part of my mission to reduce waste as much as possible and support other local businesses. I make everything I use from scratch, using local, seasonal ingredients whenever I can. In an effort to reduce waste, I compost, recycle and buy most of my ingredients in bulk from our local Lake Country markets. We are so fortunate to have so many great local food artisans right here in the Okanagan.
